"What it means is that for the large part people are over paying for a customized port of the legacy collection." - Uh-huh?īTW, I wouldn't bet on it being cracked very easily.

Me thinks its all just an excuse for yet some more slagging: (Mind you, that would have been one of the first things to try out just for the sake of it if I had one.)

I wasn't suprised at all that you can kinda see something happening when you boot up to standard linux or Windows on it. I think it's a clever plan for the future - as Intel goes forward with the CPU tech, so can Korg go with relatively little hardware redesign in the future.

It was known from the beginning that the Oasys does it's stuff with a standard P4, also that it has a "normal" motherboard inside (among other things). This is one of the stupidest threads in a long time. It is interesting how the Internet can work like the old "2 tin cans connected by a piece of string" communication system I remember as a child, where the original message "I was able to load a version of Linux on my OASYS" somehow has been morphed into "Korg OASYS cracked". He didn't actually load the OASYS software. Mark (the OASYS owner) essentially verified that the OASYS uses a PC motherboard and runs a customized version of Linux (which was why he was successful in booting up the OASYS using two different Operating Systems). get some Linux screens displayed on the OASYS LCDĪs he mentions in his post, the actual OASYS code (the stuff created by Korg) is encrypted.įYI, he was also able to get the OASYS to boot using WinPE (a minimal "PreInstallation" version of Windows XP): get a USB computer keyboard and mouse to be recognized by Knoppix get the OASYS hardware (an AOpen PC motherboard with an Intel Pentium processor) to load Knoppix You could force your own Windows PC to run Knoppix simply by putting the Knoppix CD in your CD reader and rebooting your computer (most computers are set to read the CD burner first). In this case, a very Linux knowledgeable OASYS owner simply booted up the OASYS using Knoppix (version of Linux that runs from its own CD): However, to date, the OASYS software (meaning the software created by Korg) has NOT been cracked. So does this mean its possible for the oasys to get cracked!?Īnything can be cracked if enough very smart people spend time and money working on it.
